‘Tis the season for warm, indulgent drinks! A great alternative to traditional hot chocolate, this vegan version uses non-dairy milk and adds a spicy kick.
2 cups vanilla almond milk
1/2 3.5oz dark chocolate bar, chopped
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
3 tablespoons agave
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon cayenne (skip if you don’t like a little heat!)
In a small saucepan, heat almond milk over medium heat. Bring to a simmer.
Melt chopped chocolate bar in microwave or using a double-boiler method. Add melted chocolate and all remaining ingredients to milk. Whisk until blended, serve, and enjoy!
