In twelve short months, the nation weathered Hurricane Sandy, overwhelming heat waves, calamitous drought, and watched the Southwest burn. As President Obama said in his second Inaugural Address, "...none can avoid the devastating impact of raging fires, and crippling drought, and more powerful storms."
This Sunday, February 17, Seventh Generation will join the tens of thousands of people who feel the urgency of the climate crisis—many of whom experienced those devastating events—at the Forward on Climate Rally in Washington, DC.
Seventh Generation has been committed to positive climate change for 25 years, but for true, systemic change, now is the time for bold, decisive legislative action. Making our voices heard at the Forward on Climate Rally will bring the urgency of climate crisis from supporters across the country to the President's front door.
Seventh Generation will donate funds to help the Sierra Club and 350.org run the rally. We'll also be sponsoring a number of seats on busses going to the rally for Vermonters who would like to join us.
Let's make sure President Obama follows through on his promise to, "...respond to the threat of climate change, knowing that the failure to do so would betray our children and future generations."
