This week, California law makers rejected a bill that would put a statewide ban on all plastic shopping bags and would require shoppers to bring their own reusable tote or purchase a recyclable paper bag. Although the state Senate said no, we can take action into our own hands. If you’re a Californian who brings your own reusable totes with you when you shop, we want to hear from you! And we want to hear from all Nation members who support the bill. Post your comments below, and we will select 100 Nation members at random to receive a free Seventh Generation tote bag (plus a coupon for Seventh Generation product). State officials report that Californians use 19 billion plastic bags each year. These bags ultimately end up in a land fill. Let’s make a positive difference and reduce that ghastly number!
