Salary: Minimum $83,200, adjusted commensurate with experience. Bonus eligible.

OVERVIEW

The Advocacy and Movement Building Associate’s primary role is to support all aspects of bringing our advocacy campaigns to life including campaign concept development, campaign strategy, and campaign call to action, with a specific focus on campaign execution. Within this role, the overriding priority is the successful implementation of our consumer education and activation plan, utilizing Seventh Generation’s marketing resources and communication channels.  They will work in close partnership with our marketing organization and report to the Head of Advocacy and Movement Building.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support day to day execution of Advocacy strategy, in partnership with the Marketing Content team, with a particular focus on bringing the work to life across our communications channels.
    • Support coordination of cross functional team to drive creation of advocacy content designed to engage, education, and activate our consumer audience.
    • Review, revise, and as needed, draft copy to support content creation across channels (email, social, and others as needed).
    • Implement strategy to grow long-term advocacy power of our consumer base by growing and cultivating a community of advocates who consistently take action on climate justice and related issues.
    • Ensure all campaign activities and assets are consistent with Seventh Generation values and reflect the systemic change we seek.
  • In collaboration with Head of Advocacy and Movement building, inform advocacy strategy development through:
    • Tracking news and developments related to key campaign areas.
    • Engage and follow movement discourse to support development of Seventh Generation strategy positions.
    • Regularly consult with movement partners and contacts to inform and shape strategy.
ATTRIBUTES AND PRIOR EXPERIENCE
  • Knowledge, understanding and commitment to social justice.
  • 3 years of previous campaign experience and a proven track record of campaign strategy development.
  • Experience working in advocacy coalitions/multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Communications experience including drafting advocacy communications for a variety of channels. Knowledge of channel strategy and best practices a plus.
  • Experience managing digital communications platforms including social and email, or a willingness to learn.
  • Coordinating cross-functional teams.
