Free & Clear Organic Cotton Tampons - with applicator is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 70.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Applicator is IMPOSSIBLE I love 7th Gen products and I religiously use them in every room in my house, from hand soap to laundry detergent, so I was estatic to see these at target and bought two boxes! However, once my period rolled around and I actually needed to use these I found it utterly impossible to get the tampon in place with the applicator. They're almost completely smooth and incredibly difficult to grip on to. Some I didn't even use, I would get it halfway and lose my grip (essentially ruining the product). It was downright painful sometimes. I've used cardboard applicators plenty and never had this kind of frustration. I can't even take these with me anywhere because they're so difficult to use, I ended up grabbing a box of name brand ones just so I could throw them in by bag for when I'm at work. The absorbency is great and I support the company but I think I'll try and find a different eco friendly brand until they redesign the applicator on these. I'm honestly glad this isn't the first product I've used from 7th, because if it were I probably wouldnt use the brand at all after this experience. Thank goodness I know better and will continue supporting the work they do.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Applicator is the WORST!!! I brought these because I'm looking for better option during my cycle. However I couldn't use it best it wouldn't come out the applicator. Wish I would have read the reviews first.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Difficult applicator I tend to buy things that are generally more helpful to the environment so I went with the 7th Generation Trio of pads, tampons, and panty liners and I was quickly impressed with the absorbency of the tampons but not a big fan of the hard to use applicator. There was no grip and had to use two hands to release the applicator. Hmm...haven't had the trouble before (even using other cardboard applicators). I would buy these again just because I know my money is going to a good company. But please reconsider the design on the tampon applicator.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good, but applicator is impossible :-/ I wanted to try out a more natural option, without chemicals, but the applicator is really difficult to use. The inner tube does not easily slide into the outer tube, so it takes two hands to insert -- one holding the outer tube in place, and one pushing the inner tube... As far as tampons go, it was fine absorption-wise.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Redesign the applicator STAT! This product could be great, but it's not currently. The tip of the applicator is fine. My concern, as others have said, the grip part is non-existent! I had to use 2 hands to actually get the bottom of the applicator to push up while the other held it in place bc my finger kept sliding off. No one wants to use 2 hands to insert a tampon or spend that much time trying to insert one in the first place. Absorbency works well though!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Applicator issues! I bought once. So excited but I had major issues with the applicator. I see I'm not the only one. Will not buy again until the applicator is fixed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great absorbency, terrible applicator. I really wanted to switch to cleaner tampons. These seem to have good absorbency and are comfortable but are very difficult to use. The applicator sticks and it is hard to use the plunger. I have used other cardboard applicators for years with no issues but these were really hard to use. I saw other reviews stating the same thing and thought people were just not used to cardboard applicators. Unfortunately they were correct. If they can fix the applicator issue these would be a 5 star product.
