Environment and Green Cleaning: See my post. Thanks. "Go Green!"
Medium Green
Laundry Detergent - Liquid
I have been recycling for a few years now. I plant trees, shrubs and flowers every year. After the new energy saving light bulbs came on the market I replaced all the bulbs in my house. Further, within the past two years, I have replaced all of my major appliances with new ones with high energy effiency ratings, including a new furnace and hot water heater of the same caliaber. Washing all laundry in cold water and with full loads, I purchased my first bottle of "Seventh Generation" laundry detergent six days ago. When I am able to find it, I buy recycled printer paper. My next vehicle will be a hybrid. Reading everything I can find at the local bookstores and online about global warming, and "going green," I share what I learn with my workplace cohorts. Many of these people have taken an interest in "going green" and are beginning to embrace the challenges and their moral and ethical responsibilities to do their part in this quest. Additionally, I am enrolled in an online Master's of Organizational Leadership program, where I also spread the word, and have encited a movement within some of academic cohorts, including a professor who have become enggaed in their personal social responsbility to the earth and the world populous. Concerned about what plastic is doing to the landfills and the oceans, I no longer use plastic or paper in the stores. I take my "Going Green" bags everywhere I go to bring home my purchases. Several people usually stop me everytime I am out and ask where I bought the bags so that they might purchase their own. In small ways I am making a difference and affecting others lives by sharing my passion for "going green." My plan after graduation this year, I hope to affiliate myself with a proactive, innovative, forward-thinking agency or organization that provides a product or service to fight global warming or involved in "going green." I would love to have a prototype "green" home, with a green roof, and heated by geothermics. I am seriously thinking about speaking with someone from the local state university about developing a green summer workshop for elementry or high school students. (May not happen this, however a years planning should be enough). I have thrown out all the chemical cleaners and an now using Borax and vinegar to clean the bathrooms and kitchen...and it looks great and smells good too. It is everyone's responsibility to do whatever we can to reduce carbon emissions, and the Carbon Dioxide we force into the air through our daily activities. It should therefore, be everyone's moral and ethical responsibilty to society to do our part to clean up the soil, water and air pollution that we leave behind. We all should accept accountability for our personal behaviors and actions. Thank you.
