Composting is a great way to further reduce the amount of waste you send to your local landfill. Even if you live in an apartment in the city, there are composting bins of every size that are sanitary and useful for making great dirt to grow your own herbs or small plants to beautify your enviorment, save yourself a little money and add a fresh taste to your meals.

Dark Green

Being "green" isn't new to me. My family has recycled, reused, adopted, composted and conserved all of my life. My goal is to continue this way, teach my step-child (who comes from a very non-green family)the importance of preserving the world, and to do as much more "green" living in order to take up the slack of all of those people who are NOT doing their part. Although some of my ideas are not yet being employed due to financial issues, at some point in the near future we plan to change the type of vehicles we drive, use solar energy to the fullest (we live in the desert), save rain water, compost, plant trees and plants native to our zone and purchase products that are environmentally safe and not tested on animals. And, another of our biggest passions... RECYCLE - ADOPT A PET FROM YOUR LOCAL HUMANE SOCIETY or BREED RESCUE!!
