I wet the clothes in cold water, daub a little Seventh Generation laundry powder onto the stain, and let soak in cold water for a day or two. I then scrub the stain, and voila! This has worked great for um, baby stains, as well as filthy construction clothes.
Soaking in borax can sometimes help. I am looking for a way to get watermelon stains out, specifically. I haven't tried the SG laundry soap yet, time to give it a try and do some pre-soaking.
