Cleaning Up Spilled Laundry Detergent

My aged father in law dropped the laundry detergent and it broke. We are having a hell of a time cleaning it up. Any ideas? Washing it up results in a dangerously, slippery situation especially for a septuagenarian.

Easy to Clean With, But Not Easy to Clean!

Dear Melissa:

Cleaning spilled laundry detergent is not easy! Here are some tips. First, pickup as much as possible with dry towels, sponges, or other absorbent cloths. When there is just a thin layer of liquid left, use a wet towel or sponge to wipe up the remainder. You will have to frequently rinse out the towel or sponge to get all the detergent off the floor. When wiping the spot with a damp cloth no longer results in foam formation, wash the floor with the cleaner you usually use. This should leave the floor no more slippery than usual.

Good luck!
