Instead of using paper towels or an air dryer in public restrooms, bring a hankie in your purse or pocket and dry your hands off with that. More convenient than an air-dry, more eco-friendly than paper towels! In Japan, this is the norm.
Dark Green
Laundry Detergent - Liquid
My New Year's resolution this year was to "go green," and right now I'm aggressively working towards that goal. I live in a dilapidated old house that we're remodeling and I am working on replacing some of the bad stuff with energy efficient replacements; this year I'm switching to Low-E/Argon windows, replacing a very leaky door, and hopefully replacing garage doors too. Next year I'm hoping to replace the siding and add more insulation while I'm at it. Of course, remodeling type changes are slow to happen, and I'm working on making changes in my day-to-day life as well. I've also decided to switch to reusable pads, bring a bottle with me instead of getting disposable cups, bring grocery bags to the store, hang my laundry out to dry, and other things as well. Of course, I'm replacing old petroleum-based cleaners with Seventh Generation plant-based ones as well. I still have bleach cleaner for my bathtub (I know, I know) but once I use that up I'll switch to eco-friendly shower cleaner as well. Hopefully a toothbrush will be good enough to clean out the grout--anyone have a recommendation for a stellar bathroom cleaner?
