I use the Seventh Generation Free and Clear Dish Liquid as shampoo for my hair.

I am 27 years old. I am an out-of-work library associate looking for a career change. I have a money saving approach to being environmently friendly. I am a long-time vegetarian. I try to get myself to make environmently friendly and economically sound choices by making it difficult or unpleasant to make a bad choice and likewise, I try to find ways to reward myself by being enviromently friendly and economically sound. I guess I would say I have a behaviorialist approach. My college degree is in psychology. I am trying to teach myself how to sew because repurposing and repairing clothing saves money and keeps clothes out of the landfill and reduces stress to the environment from clothing manufacturing plants. I just moved back in with my parents and it is hard to convince them that they should recycle everything they can. We live in a rural area and recycling is not sponsored by our village, so there is no pick up of recyclables. Before I moved back home I made all my hygiene and housekeeping products as old-fashioned and natural as I could. I tried to eliminate the number of bottles and boxes under my sink. My favorite products are Dr. Bronner's Liquid Peppermint Soap, 1000 Mule Team Borax, Arm & Hammer Washing Soda and Baking Soda, Fels Naptha Soap (Not a eco-friendly brand, but it's old-fashioned) True Lemon Packets, Heinz Vinegar, Seventh Generation Dish Liquid Free and Clear, Burts Bees Lip Balm Tin, Essential Oils like lavender, peppermint, lemon, spearmint, anise, clove. I get most of them from Lor Ann. People use them to make candy. I will only buy the ones that say natural on the 1 dram size bottle. A few drops of these can be added to unscented products for aromatherapy. Get the dropper lids for easy measuring. I recommend the DivaCup, too, for women. Check out www.divacup.com. I have done yoga a few times and I like it. I feel if you want to be socially responsible it helps to be balanced and at peace with yourself, however you can achieve that state of being.
