Lemongrass and Thyme Disinfectant

I'm so sorry but this stuff smells like roach spray. It starts out smelling like Thyme but then morphs early and badly. There has to be some other natural smell that could be substituted. I have a full bottle and I can't use it. The scent is awful.

Lemongrass and Thyme

The thyme is a little overwhelming. It is the only cleaner I have found that does not bother my allergies and asthma though.

non-refillable package?

Sorry, meant "cannot be refilled"... :)

Re: non-refillable package?

@gamelin23
I am surprised to hear you say that the spray bottle can be refilled, because a quick Google search brought up many, many, disinfectant spray refill options. (Apparently that's how they clean hospitals?) Are you sure about this? I really like the product, but don't think I can continue to keep buying and recycling those plastic bottles and spray heads...

Minority?

Apparently I'm in the minority here, but I'm completely in love with the smell of this product!!! I use it in every room and it makes me smile every time I get a whiff. I keep looking for more products in this scent. I'd love to have a concentrate for cleaning hardwood floors, as well as a window cleaner in this scent.

My lemongrass & thyme spray cleaner....

...does not smell like roses, but I love that it is something safe that I can use, Maybe Seventh Generation should try a different scent like Thyme and Pine.. :)

Re: non-refillable package?

@ georgehayduke

Hi there. I work at Sevenenth Generation and I want to thank you for your post. You raise a good point and I'll do my best to answer it. While the ingredients are all botanically derived we have to follow the rules regarding our product being EPA registered. Disinfectant bottles are not to be reused or repurposed. It's disappointing but at least they are able to be recycled which is comforting. I'll note your comments accordingly. Thank you very much. Jason

non-refillable package?

i can't seem to find any reason why this package is designed to be nonrefillable. the ingredients aren't toxic (or they're not supposed to be) and the company is all about using things better and more efficiently, so why am i supposed to not refill this bottle?

Took some getting used to...

The first time I used it, I didn't love it....but then I thought about what I had been using before that...BLEACH! Doesn't anything smell better than bleach? I'll never go back to my old cleaning products.

Re: lemongrass & thyme Disinfecting MultiSurface cleaner

@akabeans Thanks for your post and your success against the ants... That's great to hear and I now have some uses for the product at my camp other than general disinfecting. Great post... thanks for your patronage, Jason

lemongrass & thyme Disinfecting MultiSurface cleaner DETERS ANTS

I am not fond of the scent, but I find it mild and completely bearable. In fact, I found out by accident that this stuff deters ants! I tried killing them, trapping them, all sorts of natural and toxic remedies. Well the type of ants we have in our home, hate this stuff. All I have to do is use the lemongrass & thyme Disinfecting Multi-Surface cleaner to "disinfect" where I see ants, and they have not come back in months.

Thyme Lemongrass Cleanser

I agree with the others who have posted, this smell is a tad overwhelming. I see on the ingredient list that oil of oregano is part of the formulation. I look at this way...if I can use it and it won't kill me then that's a plus! Seriously, other cleansers I have used are so "chemically" that I have had to throw them out! Keeping tweaking the formula and I'll keep using it. For the record, I do like it in the kitchen...smells very herbal so it's a good fit. The bathroom? Not so much.

Thanks!

I'm sorry but I have to

I'm sorry but I have to agree...the smell is terrible. My son became nauseous when I cleaned the kids bathroom. I actually squeezed out all the liquid from the wipes into the canister and put some Lavender oil in the liquid. It helped but it still has an 'aftersmell'. Any chance of changing or coming out with an alternate fragrance? Thanks.

I loved the smell of the

I loved the smell of the Thyme & Lemongrass. I have really bad reactions to all cleaners I've tried and this one did not make me hold my breathe and run. I usually use just vinegar and baking soda. So I found this to not be so over overwhelming. [I must have got a good batch]. and if it keeps the bugs away-awesome-2 for 1. Thanks.

Lemongrass and Thyme disinfectant

This stuff keeps the bugs away. Use a few drops in your water when cleaning the windows. Great products "Seventh Generation". Have a great day!
