What happens when sixty 4th and 5th graders descend on our offices?  A whole lot of fun, combined with a whole lot of learning!  Students from Mrs. Gordon's, Mrs. Smith's and Mr. Fitzsimmons' classes at the Sustainability Academy at Lawrence Barnes School in Burlington visited Seventh Generation for some place-based learning as part of a class economics unit that will roll into a class project.

Our Products Are Safe
Seventh Generation does not formulate products with any of the asthma-associated or endocrine disrupting substances identified by the Silent Spring Institute in their recent study.  Nor do we use ingredients that might reasonably contain trace levels of these substances.

This year's Prosperity Campaign seeks to empower 180,000 people with microcredit loans and the chance to change their lives through entrepreneurship.

For the past six years, Seventh Generation has been a member of Whole Planet Foundation, a private, nonprofit organization established by Whole Foods Market to provide grants to microfinance institutions in the U.S., Latin America, Africa, and Asia. These institutions develop and offer a microenterprise loan program along with training and other financial services to the self-employed poor.

We’re thrilled to see Seventh Generation's Natural 4X Laundry Detergent bottle get the attention it deserves! Fast Company magazine applauds our new direction and graphically compares the life cycle of the eco-friendly, cardboard bottle to that of an ordinary recycled  plastic container.

The article offers an eye-opening look at the resources saved and waste avoided throughout the supply chain, not to mention the significantly higher likelihood of consumers actually recycling the 4x cardboard bottle.

Did you know that of all the water in the world, only 3% is fresh? And that less than one third of 1% of this fresh water is available for human use? The rest is frozen in glaciers or polar ice caps, or is deep within the earth beyond our reach. To put it another way, if 100 liters represents the world's water, about half a tablespoon of it is fresh water we can use.
