Cheryl GreeneOne of the great things about working for Seventh Generation, a leader in responsible business practices, is that you get to know a lot of like-minded people who are just as energized about sustainability as you are. One of those folks -- and one of our green heroines -- is Cheryl Greene, wife of Stanford University pediatrician and childhood environmental safety expert Dr. Alan Greene.

Cheryl, who was diagnosed with "terminal" breast cancer 15 years ago and given only a few months to live, recently learned that her doctors now consider her cured! Her battle was a rough one, but she was always convinced that she would survive. That she did is a testament to her incredible will to live, to the capabilities of modern medicine, and to the important wisdom that it's never too late to choose a better, healthier way of life.

To celebrate her cancer's defeat, Cheryl wrote a series of posts documenting her journey from diagnosis to cure. To read them is to understand the power we have to decide our own destinies , and the good things that can happen when we do.

Cheryl, you inspire us all!
