Seth Godin suggests we change the name of global warming to "Atmosphere cancer" or "Pollution death" - Wow, where was he when we needed him – 5 or 10 years ago!
This supposedly helpful and thoughtful “marketing” insight is both overly simplistic and borders on being stupid & trite!
The challenge we face has less to do with “totems and icons” and more to do with money, politics, systemic externalities and the lack of business responsibility. He’s right. We are likely “facing what might be the greatest threat ever to the future of mankind.” But it will take more than better marketing to make a meaningful contribution to solving this problem.
