Many parents worry about whether there are harmful chemicals in the cleaning supplies used in schools. To their rescue has come Grades of Green, a group that helps parents and schools switch to safe cleaning products and other environment-friendly practices.

Grades of Green's website provides step-by-step instructions for a variety of programs, including how to get schools to switch to cleaning supplies made without toxins.

The website also details how schools can reduce trash and energy use, cut down on auto emissions, and educate students on environmental issues, all for free.

To start greening your school now, just click on "Get Started" at Grades of Green.

Agreed

When I was teaching, the janitors used a white foam cleaner that really irritated my sinuses. I believe that if I was on the verge of becoming sick, then this cleaner made me sicker. If it irritated my sinuses, I don't know what it does to young children's noses.
