Author: Seventh Generation

We’re compiling a list of the top ten items for a baby gift registry. Tell us what your favorite baby gift registry item is by posting below, and get the chance to win one of ten custom Seventh Generation diaper cakes made by Lil’ Baby Cakes. Seventh Generation diapers are included on the baby registries of many moms in Hollywood, including former Bachelorette, Trista Sutter. When asked for her recommendation for a good gift for a mommy-to-be, the mom of two said, “Anything from Seventh Generation makes a great gift. For a new mom, you can't go wrong giving diapers!”

I recently had to make a registry because I am due December 25th with my first child...so I made an online one. The most important items on there for me were secondhand items... I asked for secondhand clothes of all sizes and anything else for baby. This way I get a mix of new, organic, and used items and I think sometimes used items are just as important as organic because it is a way to recycle and an easy way to gift! Good for the environment AND baby!

1. Breastfriend pillow, helps to keep baby at the right height when figuring out early breastfeeding 2. Lanolin Cream, so helpful for mom for first three months minimum and if you have extra great for raw noses when someone gets a cold 3. Method Diaper Cream, goes on like a lotion so is a great barrier cream 4. Butt Paste, fantastic for irritated bums 5. Cloth Diapers, great for cutting down on waste and simple to use. We use 7th gen disposables at daycare and cloth at home since they will not use cloth at our daycare. 6. Wet bag, good for dirty diapers on the go or all the changes of clothes, bibs and burp clothes that get spit up on 7. Nursing Cover that has structure in the neck to easily view your baby. 8. An easy to use stroller and car seat system 9. pack-n-play, we used ours downstairs as an extra crib and changing table which was huge even before we were ready to leave the house 10. A comfortable baby carrier, sling or moby wrap. Just be careful to pay attention to baby's neck and airway.

A front carrier appropriate for a newborn. My daughter lived in her sling until she was 6+ months. I agree that prepared meals are probably the best gift, though not really registry friendly!

For my registry I'd definitely include: *7th generation diapers in a few different sizes because little ones grow quickly! *love the 7th generation disinfecting wipes for quick clean ups in all areas of the home. * Burt's Bees line of baby care products, Baby Bee are my absolute fave to use for my babies. * You may not be able to add this to a registry but prepared meals for a new Mom and Dad is the perfect gift to welcome a new baby!
