Bonnaroo Here We Come!

We (a group of folks from Seventh Generation, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, and Yestermorrow) left Burlington, Vermont on Tuesday for a trip to the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee.

It was a 24-hour bus ride on the now famous Solar Bus, which runs on vegetable oil. Our challenge was finding sources for the veggie oil. We were actively internet-searching on the bus for a Costco, BJ's, or Sam's Club in hopes of finding a place to fill up enroute.

We did need to throw in 8 gallons of petroleum diesel to make it to the only Eastern Tennessee B-99 (99% pure veggie-juice) station.

It is a trip at Bonnaroo. It is one day before all the folks arrive and we are setting up our Bonnaroo Carbon Shredder booth. We will be turning people on to what they need to do to reduce their carbon footprint by 10% by 2009.

Stay tuned as we are shooting video and will send back more of the feel of what is going on here.

That is wonderful!!

Now, let's work on a reliable recycling & composting system for Bonnaroo. I attended last year and was sickened by the garbage just thrown on the ground.
