Fluoride on Food

Can anyone give me any information about the use of fluoride sprayed on all raw foods to prevent and/or kill bacteria? I have heard that the FDA is now requiring this to be done and if so what about organic foods?

Further...

I find it a little distressing that Seventh Generation made this a top forum post WITHOUT vetting and refuting the rumor. Such sensationalism does not serve you well.

Perpetration of rumors like this...

...only serve to undermine the credibility of those who want to go green/organic. The FDA is actually backing off on recommended fluoride levels in drinking water. This rumor appears to be based on a scare article dating from 2006 claiming that Dow Chemical was touting such a product.

Use some common sense, and for goodness sake do some simple research before believing--and spreading--such outrageous rumors.
