I have noticed a dramatic increase in the cost of the powdered dishwasher detergent. A while back I compared prices for it locally. There were 3 stores I frequent that sold the 75 oz size for $5-6. Within the last few weeks, 1 store has stopped carrying the product and the other 2 have only the 45 oz size for $7-8.
Is there a reason for this?

The store that stopped
The store that stopped carrying the powder was Target. The other two stores that raised their prices are Kroger and Earthfare. I did find several boxes on the Target clearance shelf, so I am set for a few months.
I find it more than coincidental that the price changes occurred at the same time as the introduction of the tablets.
Auto Dish Pricing
It sounds like there might be an error in the pricing. The 75oz size would normally be sold at the more expensive pricing, with the 45oz in the $5-$6 range. I can understand your frustration and if you would like to share the store name with us, I would be happy to ask the sales team to see if pricing errors have occurred in this region. We appreciate that you have brought this to our attention and would encourage you to speak to the store management and see what they learn. You might be able to find the product in other locations by using our store finder. Tara
