BPA-Free Bottles

I've been reading a lot recently about the dangers of BPA in my children's sippy cups and bottles. I have recently purchased some BPA-free cups, but I am still confused about whether or not I can put them in the microwave or dishwasher. For now, I'm still hand-washing, but I would love to be able to save some time and put them in the dishwasher.

Stainless Steel Baby Bottles Are the BEST!!

Plastic leaches -- even with BPA Free bottles; glass can break and have hair-line fractures. We designed the Glass Alternative using pure quality 18/8 #304 Grade Stainless Steel. It grows with your child with sipply and sport spouts. See them here at:

glass yes plastic no

I only put glass bottles in the dishwasher and I wash all plastics by hand because plastics are already not as safe as glass and I you heat up platic that just makes the chemicals come out more and become more toxic.I do this or bottles and all of my dishwear.

hand washing

I use BPA free bottles and I also hand wash them. I don't have a huge stock of bottles and I would run out before I needed to run the dishwasher. Also, I've found that the nipples come out much cleaner when I hand wash. I just rinse them out well and leave them by the sink until I wash them.

bpa cleaning

What do you soak your bottles in? I am searching for a bpa free bin that I can soak the bottles in without cross contamination...

Plastic & Microwaves

Keep any plastic out of the microwave! That's a whole new topic which you can research on your own if you have time. Or you can just trust me :). Don't do it. In fact, you're better off without a microwave, period.

I don't put any plastic in

I don't put any plastic in the microwave nor do I put them in the dishwasher, either. Regardless of whether or not the cups/bottles have BPA in them or not, the plastic does break down over time and can cause other issues. I found that the bottles lasted longer if I handwashed them. I do them everynight with the pacifiers.

BPA

If your cups are BPA free you should have no problems putting them in the dishwasher. The hot water caused the bottles/cups with the BPA to leak out, if your cups do not have it to begin with I dont see why you need to worry. That's how I understood it. I switched to glass bottles myself, I still handwash only for the mere fact my bottles come out much cleaner handwashing them.

BPA-Free Bottles

I have been concerned with this topic. I'm only at the juice stage and have the Borne Free Trainer cups - although the bottles say they're BPA-Free, I still don't clean in the dishwasher - only wash by hand.

I use the Playtex drop-ins on a normal basis so just throw the parts that baby doesn't come in contact with (outer bottle shell, lid and ring) in the dishwasher. Everything else I wash by hand. I have NaturePure glass bottles too - If I want to heat anything I do it in the glass bottles. These are definitely safe to put in the dishwasher.
