Biodegradable or 100% Recycled Diaper Pail Refills

How about developing a biodegradable or 100% recycled diaper pail refills for pails like Diaper Genie or Diaper Champ? There are some disposable, earth friendlier options out there for diapers now, but then they are put into the plastic bag refills and kind of defeat the biodegradable purpose. Also handy for those that use biodegradable diaper liners, but due to the age of the septic/sewer system, can't flush them.

I think the diaper disposing

I think the diaper disposing bin is a waste. So the bags may be biodegradable. However the the pail itself is made plastic. That takes unrenewable energy (petroleum) to make not to mention ship it everywhere so everyone can buy it so they don't smell the diaper. Our diapers go in the trash can. If it is stinky I go outside to the big can and throw it in there. It would be nice if all of these little things were recyclable or biodecradable but we need to think beyond these. Lets make the world a luxury for our kids to live in by keeping it safe and healthy by giving up some of the luxuries like a diaper pail.

Diaper Decor bags

Hi, I use the diaper decor...and not that I don't want seventh gen to make the biodegradable bags for the pails, but the bags for the Diaper Decor pail are now biodegradable...so at least there is an option out there.

See "You're still using Petrochemicals in..." Post

There is a *great* discussion started, with really good Pros and Cons of "biodegradable" and "compostable" materials.

Will the diapers biodegrade in a compost pile?

Let's make all these products biodegradable in every form. Meaning, the diapers may be, but the plastic bags they're put in aren't. They should be too! The little plastic bags the sanitary napkins come in should be biodegradable too, but they have no number on them. Let's keep the ball rolling!

I never thought about this

I never thought about this until seeing this post. We use 7th Gen diapers, but not a biodegradable liner in our diaper pail. PLEASE make these!!! What's the point of the diaper if the bag that you dispose of them in isn't going to degrade! I've got a Diaper Decor. :) Thanks for your products!

Biodegradable diaper pail liners

Fabulous idea! I was hoping for the same thing!
I also wish the Seventh Generation kitchen/yard garbage bags were biodegradable.
