bags for disposing of cat litter daily scoopings

I recycle grocery store plastic bags by using them to dispose of the daily scoopings from my cats' litter boxes. However, I would prefer to be "greener" at the grocery by taking my own canvas bags for groceries. Unfortunately, I haven't discovered a suitable "green" alternative for the plastic grocery store bags for disposing of the cat litter scoopings. Any suggestions?

I have looked and looked to find biodegradable cat litter bags with no luck :(.
