With my third child, I decided to use cloth diapers. So, you need to buy special laundry detergent so that it doesn't coat them. After a few weeks of having 2 or 3 laundry detergents sitting on the washer (1 for baby, the rest for everyone else), I decided that was stupid - why can't I just use one for everybody?
This works wonders. It doesn't coat the diapers yet they come out smelling clean (not perfume-y) and it's tough enough to clean the messes my twin 7-year-old boys leave. The best part is, I can wash everyone's laundry together.
I DEFINITELY recommend this. It works, and it's good for the environment. Everyone wins.

I have used this product for 3 years now - it is fantastic! It does not take much soap to get your clothes clean so it lasts a long time...

Love this product been using the free and clear powder for over 17 years.
I liked it better before the HE but it still is one of the few I can tolerate that still comes in recycling cardboard instead of plastic.
Although the new liquid detergent container looks promising.

I originally bought this product because of skin allergies that my son and husband have and read a very good review from consumer reports about how great this detergent was. It ruined my clothes! They are spotty like they have been stone washed, the black clothes are spotty and now dark grey. I will not be using this again as I now have to replace almost all of the clothing in my household due to severe fading from this product.

Not a fan!! Bought the 112 oz Free and Clear box only to find that it as defective inside. The inside had a very foul smell and the usual white powder had many specks of green ( like the color of mold). Usually i buy the liquid bottle but i wanted more bang for the buck so i thought i would try the powder. So now i still have to buy the liquid version and i'm stuck with the powder that i can't use, or at least get my money back because i opened it. Never even got a chance to wash a load with it so can't even compare it's cleaning power to that of the liquid. NOT a fan!
