Ingredients:
Aqua (water), sodium citrate (plant-derived water softener), sodium silicate (mineral protection agent and alkalinity builder), ppg-10-laureth-7 (plant-modified synthetic cleaning agent), glycerin (plant-derived enzyme stabilizer), citric acid (plant-derived processing aid and pH adjuster), sodium borate and calcium chloride (mineral enzyme stabilizers), protease and amylase (plant-derived enzyme soil removers), xanthan gum (thickener), sodium hydroxide (mineral-derived pH adjuster), methylisothiazolinone and benzisothiazolinone (synthetic preservatives).
Lemon: essential oils and botanical extracts* (medica limonum peel (lemon) and citrus aurantifolia (lime)). *d-Limonene is a component of these essential oils

This natural dishwasher detergent gel has been formulated to work in all dishwashers, please follow the instructions to get the best dishwashing detergent experience.
LOAD DISHWASHER- Make sure items can be safely washed in a dishwasher. Silver, aluminum and stainless steel should be washed in separate loads to avoid discoloration. Load items with soiled surfaces facing the center of the bottom rack, for optimum dishwashing experience. Filling your dishwasher and washing full loads of dishes conserves water.
ADD DISWASHER DETERGENT GEL- Fill dishwasher dispenser cup 1/2- 2/3 full. Use less dishwasher detergent gel for soft water/smaller loads. For very hard water we recommend using Seventh Generation Rinse Aid.
For very hard water we recommend using our Rinse Aid.

If you're like me and HATE washing dishes, then you understand when I say that the only thing worse than washing dishes is having to wash them again because they came out of the dishwasher with caked-on grossness. Ugh! For some reason our glasses always seemed to be the worst. Was it because our dishwasher was ancient? Probably. Was it because certain unnamed family members didn't scrape their plates first? Most likely. Was it because we were using the wrong detergent for the job? APPARENTLY!!! Before Seventh Generation Dishwashing Gel we had tried all sorts of rinse aids and powerballs and concentrated gels, powders, etc. Expensive and not at all effective. When we started "greening" our house we were really creeped out by all of the chemicals we had invited into our kitchen- in direct contact with our skin and foods. The very first time I poured the 7th Gen gel into the dishwasher I was really doubtful that a natural detergent could clean up the things that the others couldnt. I just resigned myself to the fact that, well, the dishes would still be dirty, but they'd be a healthy dirty. Boy, was I wrong! 90 minutes later.... dishes so clean and glasses so sparkly I thought I was in the wrong kitchen. Apparently *magic* is included in their natural ingredients. Thank you 7th Gen, I'm a believer!

Forgot to add: we would REALLY appreciate being able to purchase the larger size at other stores besides Target. There is no Target here in Vermont, and we go through it very quickly. Plus, the smaller containers are a waste of plastic.

This is the ONLY natural dishwasher detergent that works for us, and we've only had success with one other brand of non-natural. It's not perfect, but it is lightyears ahead of the competition. Love the lemon smell!

I have tried several different brands of dishwasher detergent and this one is the best by far! The others leave a chalky film on my glasses. That doesn't occur with Seventh Generation's Dishwasher Gel. Every load comes out clean and fresh.

Does the job efficiently without the harmful side-effects - and a beautiful outcome! No spots, etc - even without adding anything additional. I love feeling good about no toxic chemicals being applied to my family's eating utensils, as well as no toxic chemicals being added to our water supply when I run my dishwasher. THANK YOU 7th Gen!
