Material Safety Data Sheets

Usage:

This natural dishwasher detergent has been formulated to work with your automatic dishwasher. Please follow instructions to get the most effective dishwashing experience.

LOAD DISHWASHER- Make sure items can be safely washed in a dishwasher.  Silver, aluminum and stainless steel should be washed in separate loads to avoid discoloration.  Load items with soiled surfaces facing the center of the bottom rack for optimum dishwashing.

ADD DISHWASHER DETERGENT- Fill both pre-wash and main wash cups completely with the dishwashing powder.  Use less dishwasher detergent for soft water/smaller loads.
Re-seal package after use and store in a dry place out of reach of children.  For very hard water we recommend using Seventh Generation Rinse Aid.

What do you think about our Automatic Dishwasher Powder?

I am having the exact opposite experience with this dishwasher powder. After two years of nasty dishes and even trying to make my own, my husband brought this home and we suddenly have sparkly clean cups and silverware with no nasty film left behind. FINALLY!

OK - this is the second review as the first one was deleted because I gave the 'Free & Clear' dishwasher powder 'no stars'... sigh. The story is that we fell in love with this product in its old incarnation - it was the bomb! It outperformed anything (eco-concious or no) on the market. Dishes were spotless and shiny! Then - they reformulated! BOO! The new formulation - as you will read in other reviews here - sticks to your dishes and does not rinse clean. We have had several occasions where there were big globs of undissolved detergent stuck inside our dishwasher. The new formulation is awful. Give us the old one and we will love you, again. It's beyond disappointing and I can't imagine why they messed with such a great product. For the disappointment factor, I wish to award 'no stars', but they won't post my review if there is less than one - so there it is; one too many!

As a college student and full time worker, my dishes don't exactly get washed after use. This product gets them all clean (baked on, dried on stuff) in hard south Texas water. I don't think I can switch back now, since the other brands don't work quite as well and I can sleep better knowing that everytime I run my dishwasher, I'm doing atleast something to help out the environment. Thanks for a fantastic (and affordable!) product that actually works!

I love all the Seventh Generation products I use and this is no exception. I like not putting any more phosphates & nitrates into the environment than I HAVE to. Also, I like not getting any dyes or scent chemicals on dishes that are going to be holding the food I put in to my body.

It used to be the case that "natural products" didn't work as well as their petroleum derived cousins. I haven't tried washing a non-rinsed, super baked-on lasagna pan, but all of my dishes come out clean as a whistle! (seriously, no one wants a dirty whistle...)

I really love the intent behind Seventh Generation's company, but I have to say that you *had* a great product, and tried to fix something that wasn't broken, now it sucks, at least for those of us with harder water.
Never had this problem before with the original product and didn't think twice when buying the "improved" one, I expected the same great results. I now have to find a replacement automatic powder and in the mean time am soaking everything that got fogged and filmed in apple cider vinegar, this includes the utensils, glass, ceramics etc.

Please don't try to improve any other products, they are great already.

If you bring back the "old" formula powder for those of us that have hard water I'll buy that one.
