10 less wipes now in each refill pack?

I have to admit I am disappointed, I got a notification today from Amazon telling me that there will be 10 less wipes now in each refill pack going forward, with no reduction in price. It's a tough economy for sure, and everyone is cutting corners to save money, but I am doing my part in supporting your company and purchasing your products faithfully. So what will us loyal customers get now that you have increased your revenue margin? Sorry to be so angry but I do spend a lot of money on your diapers and wipes.

That's a bitndisingenuous.

That's a bitndisingenuous. Reducimg the count does in no way "mitigate the cost to the consumer" because the cost per sheet is no different than if you kept the count the same and raised the package price. It just means the consumer has to buy them more often. The only think it might mitigate is the customer's perceptions of the price increase. That's why it FEELS dishonest, because it IS dishonest.

I don't have a problem with a necessary price increase. But I think 7gen needs to come to grips with the fact that the age old practice of shrinking the package contents so that consumers feel (i.e. notice) a price hike less, is a sleazy marketing trick, pure and simple. If you deceived yourselves into thinking otherwise that was rationalization.

10 less wipes for the same price

I'm not sure I buy the explanation that goods and production costs suddenly increased. it seems every other company has found ways to trim back. But the solution here is to rebrand the packaging and charge more per piece?

I look through my house and see so many seventh generation items for our bathroom, kitchen, laundry, and baby. I hope you calculated the cost of losing a loyal customer of so many of your products into your pricing as well.

Baby Wipes - Thank you for your feedback ...

First off I want to thank you all for your individual patronage to date and taking valuable time out of your day to share your frustration and feedback on this forum. You collectively raise good points and it's certainly a frustrating one for you as the consumer. The bottom line is that this was a decision we struggled with for several months. As you may have already read on our FAQ; due to the cost of goods increasing and the cost of production, we were faced with one of 2 decisions to make as it relates to our wipes; increase the cost per package, or reduce the count slightly to mitigate the cost to the consumer. Either decision was going to ultimately impact the consumer. This is not an excuse, rather the reality of the business structure as it stands to date for us and many other companies.
As a new parent again I too am seeing cost increases, and package count decreases in other various baby product categories we purchase for our baby. At the end of the day regardless of the necessity of business it does not feel good when you as a consumer are paying for these changes. Despite how it appeared, it was not our intention to deceive the consumer with this reduction. We realize it has felt like deception and we apologize for that feeling and perception as that was not our intention. I can assure you I will make sure your feedback is noted accordingly as it’s truly valued.
I thank you again for your time and patronage and I wish you and your families well...!

Take care,
Jason

disappointed by the new wipes

I get 7th generation baby wipes from Amazon through subscription for about 2 years and last time i was very disappointed to see that they were smaller and fewer. Amazon.com send me a notice only after I received the wipes. I felt like 7th Gen cheated on me and I am very disappointed. I loved this company and their products and was very loyal in purchasing all of their products. I feel like a friend betrayed me! I am really sad about this and truly I do not like when somebody tries to trick me. I must look elsewhere!

disappointed by 10 fewer wipes....

I was really disappointed by receiving the same news...I am glad Amazon.com told us because I am sure I may not have noticed, but I also think it is a bit of a trick. I agree...just raise the price....it is already a premium and now you go thru the packs faster...

I totally agree....I got the same notice

I am already paying a premium to purchase 7th Gen wipes and diapers because they already cost more and rarely go on sale or have coupons. I wish you had kept the same wipes count and raised the price...that would at least have been honest. Instead you are creating more packaging in the long run as I will ultimately use the same number of wipes over the course of time but now will have to use more packages.

This was not a good way to start the day.
